Consultation on becoming part of a Federation The governors of Cheddar First School, Draycott and Rodney Stoke (CEVA) First School, Fairlands Middle School, and Shipham (CEVC) First School believe that the learning experience and achievement of children at our schools will be improved through closer collaboration. After discussing various options, the Governing Bodies consider there will be strong benefits in forming a federation with a single Governing Body across all four schools and they would like to hear your views on their proposal. This document forms part of the statutory six week consultation process designed to seek the views of everybody with an interest in the schools. The result of the consultation will help the Governing Bodies make a final decision on whether to federate the schools. As governors we want to make the best strategic decision we can for the success of the children, the schools and the local community. We will only be able to do this with your help and it is important that we hear your views. All responses will be carefully considered before a final decision is made by the separate Governing Bodies. We hope this can be achieved early in the autumn term 2013.
If you are a parent of a child at our school please see the information brought home by your son/daughter. We have tried to address any questions (see enclosed leaflet entitled Frequently Asked Questions = FAQs) but please bring your questions to one of our consultation meetings or, if you have a specific question that you would like answered, then please hand it into your local school who will ensure that it is answered. We will add to the FAQs on the schools’ websites if a pattern of new questions emerges. Publication of FAQs is designed to help you decide whether a federation is a positive step for our schools.”
